Dr. Richard Pearlstein, a distinguished member of the International Surgical Sleep Society, has extensive experience in the treatment of both pediatric and adult ENT conditions and has a specialized interest in sleep surgery. He has been recognized and received the designation of Physician of Excellence, an award received by less than 1% of ENT surgeons in the US. He received this honorary award for his work in Inspire and Sleep Surgery.
Dr. Richard Pearlstein was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He received his undergraduate education from Miami University in 1988 graduating with honors with BA degrees in Microbiology and Physics, followed by his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1992.
Dr. Pearlstein received his Otolaryngology surgery training at Henry Ford Hospital/Healthcare System and Children’s Hospital of Michigan graduating in 1997, both recognized internationally for their clinical care and training.
During his training, he received multiple research awards and publications for his work on tumor-suppression cancer genes. In 1997 he received the prestigious Henry Ford Health System Resident/Fellow of the Year award.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Pearlstein received the Physician Executive Management Core Degree from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2003. He serves as Assistant Clinical Professor University of Arizona College of Medicine and Banner University Hospital Phoenix.
Dr. Pearlstein is the father of two boys, one a recent graduate of Colgate University and the other attending The Ohio State University. He is an active swimmer/triathlete and greatly enjoys the many outdoor activities that Arizona and the West have to offer.
